Together we are Stronger

Technology Camp provides a chance for youth to learn how to utilize various technologies that impact academic development, advance their internet navigation skills, develop social networking knowledge, and establish internet safety and security awareness. Campers are instructed on how to use assistive technology software including JAWS or ZoomText depending on their visual needs. Thanks to Computers for the Blind, they also learn to use Microsoft Operating systems and get to take home their laptops after the 5 days of training!

Before Technology Camp, 63% of campers felt they could navigate the internet independently and 66% felt they could use ZoomText or JAWS to use a computer and meet their needs. After Technology Camp the percentage increased immensely stating, 91% of campers felt they could navigate the internet independently and 90% of campers could use ZoomText or JAWS to use a computer and meet their needs.

Computers for the Blind depends on donations to be able to build computers for blind individuals. If you have equipment that you can donate, please click on the link below on how to proceed. Also, if you know other people who have unused equipment, or even companies that are ready to recycle their old machines, please refer them to us! Every donation is tax deductible and we can provide donation receipts.
